diy jelly belly favours

You know what? I love making favours! Yes, I do! Whether it’s a simple thank you present for those attending a wedding shower, a small hostess gift for a friend’s hospitality or a fun take-away for a kids birthday party, I truly enjoy passing on a little bit of thanks in the form of a tiny yummy treat.
Last weekend, I hosted a bridal shower for my cousin and wanted an easy and fun (yet cost effective) favour to say thank you to all forty plus guests attending. The boys had fun helping me make the favour (as well as eating it too). So what did I end up making?

Jelly belly favours

I picked up a big bag of Kirkland brand Jelly Belly jellybeans from Costco ($15) as well as some pink ribbon and clear candy bags from the dollar store. The labels I made myself at home with my colour printer. Then, I put the boys to work, filling each bag with jelly beans using a small spoon. TheBoy also helped me stick all the labels onto the bags. They had a blast!

The awesome thing is, you can put virtually anything into a small clear bag, tie it with a ribbon (and curl it), add a label and viola, you have an awesome favour ready to go!

Some other bag fillers I have used before are:

  • Skittles or Smarties
  • Ferrero Rocher chocolates
  • Stickers and kid tattoos
  • Chocolate dipped pretzels
  • Individually wrapped chocolate mints
  • Cinnamon hearts
  • Lindt chocolates
  • Chocolate dipped mini oreos
  • Homemade marshmallows

Do you have any simple go-to DIY favour ideas? If so, do share 🙂

Have a great day!
