A few weeks ago we had a family photo shoot with my cousin’s wife, Christine She is fantastic! We did an extended family shoot with my husband’s side of the family as a Mother’s Day gift for his mom, and then did some shots with just our little crew. I had a lot of fun styling our family and thought it would be fun to document some of the pieces. I had chosen a forest trail setting and wanted a vintage/little-house-on-the-prairie/boho chic feel. Haha. That’s doable right? Well, thankfully I think it kind of came together! Plus, I DIY’ed a few things and found others for great prices! It’s me, of course I did. I can’t bear to not save money. Come on, son!
Hehe…well here we go.
I tried to have us all in complementary colours and not too matchy-matchy. So I pulled together earth tones with jean accents.
The wagon was a fun and easy prop because it kept the kids contained while adding a playful touch.
Ok, I’ll start with my outfit (which I struggled with the most). I wore moccasins, a simple maroon dress, a cream/crocheted vest, an etsy turquoise acorn necklace and a leather braided headband. I also painted my nails sea green, with a gold confetti accent nail.
Josiah, my sweet husband, wore his toms, some worn but nice fitting jeans, a white shirt with a simple (Value Village) shirt that kind of pulled all our colours together.
Jeremiah (our oldest) wore his chucks, khaki shorts (Joe Fresh), a jean dress shirt and a Dollarama hat (I was super excited about that find!)
Charis (our middle) wore leather boots (I scored during the Target Canada clearance), boy jean shorts from Joe Fresh (because seriously…booty shorts for a 2-year-old?!), a lace-back white tank (Joe Fresh), Dollarama scarf (yay) and lace headband that I quickly sewed.
Keziah (our youngest) wore moccasins, jean shorts, a white onesie (which I sewed some thrift store lace onto-SUPER EASY) and a headwrap from vintage material (Value Village find).
And a few more shots, just because 🙂
Thanks for sharing in the fun with me! Hopefully, there can be some inspiration for a family shoot of your own!
Grace and peace to you. Christie
