Preschool Snack Boxes

As I mentioned in my previous post, TheBoy recently started preschool and is now enjoying it – woohoo! You don’t understand how much of a relief it is that he no longer screams and cries before I drop him off in the morming πŸ™‚ If anything, he’s somewhat eager and excited to go. Praise God for that!

Below is TheBoy’s first day of preschool snack box!

Red grape tomatoes with swiss cheese slices cut into bear shapes (TheBoy was asked to bring his teddy bear to school for the first day), mandarin orange slices with a strawberry in the middle and bread sticks.

One thing I was super excited about when TheBoy started preschool was packing healthy morning snacks. I don’t know if it’s just me, but preparing snacks and lunches for my family makes me smile. A lot. I don’t know what it is but this momma sure likes her food!

TheBoy attends school three times a week for half the day, meaning he only has one morning nutritional snack break. As such, I love sending him with fun, colourful fruits and veggies to munch on. And if you’re wondering why I send only a couple of goldfish crackers, it’s because TheBoy saw another child with them and wanted them for his snack. If I were to give him a handful of them, he would eat them all, first, and probably not eat much else. Hence, only a couple in each snack box πŸ™‚

I always encourage TheBoy to help prepare his snack box the night before with foods he will want to eat, hence, the repetition in many if his snack boxes. He’s currently loving green grapes and red cherry tomatoes πŸ™‚

What healthy and nutritious snacks do you pack (for yourself and/or your family) during the day? I love getting different snack ideas to try for myself as well as TheBoy πŸ™‚

Have a wonderful week!
