The Supplier!

As a parent you quickly realize how much children rely on you to supply all of their needs. The thing I love about young children is the fact that they are never afraid to ask for things and they do so without giving it a second thought.  In a typical day my son asks me for practical things like a snack, water or help with something. Then there are those other requests like seeing new toys in a store and wanting all of them, and me clearly saying no or you already have that at home so you don’t need another one. I have to give it up to my son though for asking.

This got me thinking about how God is my supplier. My son’s example of how he trusts us to provide for him daily gave me fresh eyes to see that just as he comes to me to supply for him, I can go to God daily trusting that He will supply the needs of our family. Not our wants…but simply our needs. There will be times when we will have to wait on Him to provide (the waiting part is always hardest isn’t it?) but when it comes it will be at the right moment because His provisions are always on time.

I would like to encourage you to tell God your needs and trust Him to supply them. Believe that the Lord wants to bless you and always remember to thank God for all of His great blessings. Celebrate with a grateful heart in God’s promise of His never-ending care!

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
