Recently I started making it a point each morning to write out 5-10 things that I am thankful for in a journal. I have loved doing this each day as it keeps me in an attitude of thankfulness. By reflecting on this list throughout the day, I am reminded of how much I truly have & how blessed I am.
There are seasons in my life when I do get discouraged and feel “behind” others who seem to have so much more than I do. In those weak moments I take my eyes off of my blessings and look at what others have & let me tell you that is not a good thing to do. I’ve been finding that as I write out my list of the things that I am thankful for & reflect on it, I am quickly reminded about how much I truly have. A lot of what I may desire/want are merely material things that have no lasting impact & really it’s not worth all of the fuss if I were to be honest.
I would love to encourage you to make it a point each day to take some time to list out the things that you are thankful for. You can start by listing just 3 things each day. By doing this little exercise, I believe that you will begin to see that there is so much to be thankful for & it may even put you in a happier mood as you begin each day and reflect on your blessings!
“It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to your name, O Most High; to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night.” Psalm 92:1-2
