After our wedding, I had several medium glass vases with no idea what to use them for. When we planned the decor for our wedding I wasn’t thinking about what I was going to do with it after the big day! From time to time I’d use one for fresh flowers but more often than not they would end up in one of my closets. I knew I needed to come up with something to do with them so I headed out to my local Michaels craft store. While wandering and filling my basket (as I’m prone to do in that store) I came across Martha Stewart’s Multi-Surface Satin Acrylic Craft Paint. I decided to buy a few colours and paint a couple vases to jazz them up a bit.
This was definitely the quickest re-purposed craft I’ve ever completed. Painting one of the vases took me 5 minutes tops. I decided to paint the inside of the vase rather than the outside to have a more glossy look. It was also more forgiving when the strokes weren’t perfect. All in all I only had to pay for the paint which cost around $3.
I’ve used the vases for dry flowers and storing office supplies at my desk. I’ve also used the same paint on old food jars and plan on using it for some mason jars I have kicking around.
