banana chocolate chip muffins

My family are big fans of banana chocolate chip muffins! I remember many Sunday mornings when my sisters and I would come down stairs to fresh banana chocolate chip muffins just out of the oven. Of course we would be fighting over the one with the most chocolate chips. My mom use to bake them for us all the time and now I find myself making them quite often. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do 🙂



  • 3 bananas
  • 1 large egg
  • 3/4 cup of white sugar
  • 1/2 cup of flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking flour
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
  • 1 cup of Chocolate chips


While your oven is preheating to 350 degrees, mash the three bananas until relatively smooth. Mix bananas, egg, and white sugar together until ingredients are combined well. In a separate bowl stir flour, baking soda, and baking flour. Add the flour mixture to the banana/egg/sugar mixture and stir until combined. Add vegetable oil and stir together. Finally, stir in chocolate chips.

I usually make these muffins in a mini-muffin tin (makes 36) however if you prefer regular size muffins this recipe will make 6. Pour your ingredients into either a lined muffin tin or one with cooking spray. With a regular size tin, cook for 20 min or until muffins are golden brown. If you are using a mini muffin tin they should be done in about 12-14 min.
