Finding strength in Gods word

Happy Wednesday.
The month of January has been kind of wild. Do you find we anticipate December and Christmas so much that it not only speeds by. We then get to January and often think now what? A new year brings a fresh slate, new goals, and a whole lot of uncertainties. If your Anything like me I tend to struggle with this in-between place. I like order and routine and have always loathed change.I’m slowly learning that change can be such a gift from God. But I don’t always see it right away. And those goals… Resolutions… New perspectives for the new year. Sometimes they get heavy and when we feel like we can’t do it all we beat ourselves up and then usually quit. Thankfully God doesn’t actually call us to be perfect. He asks us to invite him into our imperfections.. Our days, our goals, our fears. ALL of IT! I’m clinging to that this year. I have a helper who loves me even in my imperfectness, why on earth do I need to beat myself up? I am also working on extending this grace to others when i have expectations and things I want from them. Don’t we all just need a little more grace? I know I do.
My husband and I chose a few verses this year to focus on, to keep coming back to. They remind us of Gods faithfulness often when we need it most.
Matthew 11:28
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Clinging to this verse right now this new year..Right where I am Wherever that is. Awkwardly in transition of the new year, tired and worn out and slowly attempting to accomplish new goals for this year… HE meets me.. He will give me rest. His yoke is easy and his burden is light!!! Be encouraged today.
