The Bug loves anything to do with art. Colouring, stickers, painting…you name it. What this usually means, though, is that I have a man sized stack of papers that I feel guilty about throwing out. I want to treasure them forever. My tiny house does not permit such a thing. Out of desperation to have some sort of organization to the chaos, and with a bit of inspiration from my friend, I came up with a Creativity Journal.
- photo album (I got mine at Dollarama)
- white paper
- scrapbook or other pretty paper (optional)
First, cut your paper into the size you’ll need. I bought an album for regular sized photos (4×6 inches) so I cut my paper into 4×6 rectangles. You’ll need to have half white, half pretty paper. This is the most time consuming part of the process. If you can find paper already cut into the size you need, you’re golden.
Place the papers into your album, alternating white and pretty.
The idea is that she can color or paint to her hearts content on the white paper, and the pretty paper will make a nice back drop for stickers.
In the beginning of the book I put down down some information that I thought would be fun to record.
When she’s done her book, we will fill out the same info and compare!
