My family has a bit of a ranch obsession. It’s delicious. But…it’s unhealthy and can be expensive when you’re going through 2 bottles a week. So this week I tried out a homemade ranch recipe only instead of using mayonnaise and sour cream like the recipe suggested, I used plain Balkan yogurt.
The first step is to make the mix. The original recipe called for onion flakes, parsley, salt and garlic powder. I, however, did not have garlic powder on hand and am not one to follow recipes anyways. Here’s what I used:
- 5 tablespoons dried minced onions
- 7 teaspoons dried parsley
- 5 teaspoons Club House Tex Mix spice mix
When making into the dressing, use 1 tablespoon of the seasoning per cup of yogurt.
It’s best to let the mixture sit a couple hours before you use it first to let the flavours mix in nicely.

She’s gotten a couple gulps of my coffee on days when I was too tired to remember to keep it out of her reach. Although I’m not sure where she got “hot” from as I haven’t managed to drink my coffee hot since she’s been born.
Either way, I liked it…and that’s what matters right?
