diy bath bombs

I love bath bombs. Who wouldn’t? They’re fun and make my skin feel like heaven. With the leading brand costing $8 each, I’ll admit it’s rare that I buy them. But it’s ok because there’s plenty of DIY recipes online!

The recipe I used actually called for the ingredients to be measured by weight. I did not as I don’t have a scale. It worked out fine so I’ll give you the recipe I used!

What you’ll need:
• 1 cup baking soda
• 1/2 cup citric acid
• 1/2 cup corn starch
• 1/2 cup salts (I used Epsom salts)

• 3/4 tbsp water
• 2 tsp essential oil of your choice (I used a citrus blend)
• 2.5 tbsp oil (I used grape seed oil, almond oil or olive oil would work as well)
• 1-2 drops food colouring

1) Blend all the dry ingredients well in large bowl. 2) In a separate small bowl, mix all wet ingredients well. 3) Very very slowly mix wet ingredients into dry. If you go too quickly, the wet ingredients will activate and bubble. If this happens, quickly mix the wet part into the dry part. 4) Quickly press your mixture into your molds. I got these star ones at the dollar store. Silicone molds work well. Your mixture should be a crumbly consistency. Press it firmly and leave to dry. I left mine over night and they were plenty hard.

When you’re ready, simply take it out of the mold and plop it in the bath! Kids love these. Have fun!
