$5 Gift: Homemade Hot Chocolate

Here is an awesome and delicious gift for anybody on your list. This hot chocolate recipe is so yummy and because it’s homemade, you know it’s free of any yucky preservatives or chemicals.

What you’ll need:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 pinch cayenne powder

The cayenne powder is what I like to call my secret ingredient. It gives the hot chocolate a nice depth. For those of you out there who are picky like me and just find the thought of this gross, TRUST ME. You won’t taste the cayenne powder.

When it’s time to make the hot chocolate, simply heat up 1/2 cup of milk and add 1/4 cup of the powder. If you are giving this as a gift, tie on a little tag with these instructions 😉

Bonus: Cinnamon Nutmeg Dusted Mini Marshmallows

In a tupperware, toss your marshmallows with about 1/2 to 1 tsp each cinnamon and nutmeg until they are all coated. Delish!
