Pinspired Alphabet Wall

Confession time…

My name is Christie and I am a Pinterest addict. Phew, it feels so good to get that off my chest! 🙂

So, needless to say, I enjoy browsing Pinterest and getting inspired along the way. One of these inspirations was a craft endeavour for Jeremiah’s room. It is still somewhat a work in progress and needs to be painstakingly attached to his wall, but in the meantime, here it is!

Jem’s alphabet wall

The crafting process:-I made some of my own letters from simple supplies, “re-crafted” some purchased ones and left some of the purchased ones alone. -My own letters were the C, I, J, L, N, P, T, U, V and X

“C”=diaper box cardboard cut to shape with an old t-shirt cut and hot glued to it.

“I”=the cardboard cut out with scrap paper attached and sharpie outlining the edges.
“J”=cardboard cut out with blue yarn wrapped around it (this was harder than it looks and I recommend doing a different letter, like O)
“L”=same as C.
“N”= small square canvas on which I drew an ‘N’ with marker/sharpie and then attached buttons with my glue gun. Later I attached a ribbon to the back so that it could hang on the wall (my favourite).
“P”=same as I.
“T”=cardboard cut out and painted.
“U”=cardboard cut out with grey/silver ribbon wound around it and glue-gunned.
“V”=cut out scrapbook paper, outlined with black sharpie and clothes pegs to hang it up
“X”=some old chopsticks glue-gunned together

-The “re-crafted” ones were the B, D, F, K, M, O, R and Z “B”=wood letter that I painted and glued buttons to.”D”=I painted polka dots onto this with a sharpie paint pen.”F”=I glue-gunned ribbon onto this one.”K”=I painted it.”M”=yup, painted this one too”O”=I wound ribbon around this one, but ran out and my dollar store doesn’t have any of that colour anymore…so I’m waiting to finish it.”R”=painted this one too”Z”= painted it to look like a zebra (and since I’m South African by birth I pronounce that zeb.ra, not zeebra). 🙂 -So the A, E, G, H, Q, S, W and Y are basically how I found them. Most of my supplies were things I found around the house, at the dollar store or at Michaels. I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out. Give it a go if you like!Happy Crafting Everyone!~Christie~
